Chief Executive

Mr Basil Hanna

Basil has been the Chief Executive Officer 7 years.  He is an advocate to children and committed to making a difference for children who have suffered trauma from abuse by assisting with the growth of the work of Parkerville Children and Youth Care and by creating community awareness on the issues of abuse.

At 17 years of age, Basil commenced nursing and graduated as a general nurse and mental health nurse.  He obtained a science degree after 15 years of nursing, then successfully graduated from Curtin with an MBA.  Basil is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  He has worked in executive roles in health and welfare since 1990; worked as a National Quality Manager and Project Manager and owned his own consultancy, but has always returned to working with children.  He considers working for children as the most important job you can do.

Basil is married to Chris, Executive Director of Nursing at St John of God Subiaco.  He has three adult children and two grandchildren.

Director Therapeutic Services

Amanda Paton

Amanda is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of Therapeutic Services at Parkerville Children and Youth Care.  Amanda has worked at Parkerville since late 2005 and began in a direct care role before taking on case management, programme management and senior psychology roles.

She has significant experience in the assessment and treatment of children and young people with complex abuse and trauma histories and providing complex Comprehensive Assessments for children and young people living in foster care.  Her area of expertise is working with and supporting children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse. Amanda also provides training to internal and external staff on numerous issues related to the care of children who have experienced abuse.

Mark Burgess

Mark has a Bachelor of Social Work and has been working in the out-of-home care field for the last 10 years in both government and non-government positions. Mark spent almost three years working as a statutory Social Worker in London in both child protection and out-of-home care. Since returning to Australia, he has held positions as a Senior Social Worker and Foster Care Programme Manager in two Western Australian non-government agencies. Mark is currently the Director of Youth Services for Parkerville Children and Youth Care (Inc), overseeing nine residential, outreach and education programmes for Youth in Perth.

Jo Collins

Jo has a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours and has worked in Child Protection in both non-Government and Government for the past 9 years. Jo spent the last 5 years with the Department for Child Protection in a variety of leadership roles, most recently managing the Out of Home care for children for a District office.

Jo is married and has two children and resides locally in the Hills. Jo enjoys running and is attempting to complete her first marathon this year!

Director George Jones Child Advocacy Centre

Natalie Hall

Natalie worked for the Department of Child Protection from 1987 to 2009 in a variety of practitioner and leadership roles and in 2010 commenced with Parkerville Children and Youth Care as Director of the George Jones Child Advocacy Centre. She has a Bachelor of Social Work (Curtin University 1985) and a Graduate Diploma of Criminal Justice (University of Western Australia 2009). In 2006 Natalie was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to research multi-agency services for children who have been harmed and she is currently undertaking doctorate research through Deakin University on evaluating the Child Advocacy Centre model in Australia. In 2011 Natalie received the WA Social Worker of the Year - Agent of Change Award.

Natalie is a Fellow of Leadership Western Australia, and is married to Andrew.  Together they have 5 children and enjoy family activities, music, and travelling.

Executive Assistant and Administration Manager

Tess Botting

Tess is the Executive Assistant and Administration Manager and has been with the Organisation since July 2001.  Prior to joining Parkerville Children and Youth Care, Tess had extensive experience in the corporate business world.  She has played a major role in the Organisation’s Annual Charity Lunch since its inception in 2004.
