Friends of Parkerville
Since forming in 1998, Friends of Parkerville has supported, promoted and advanced the work of Parkerville Children and Youth Care to restore safe, stable and happy lives to children in need of care and protection.
Over the years, Friends has supported a variety of Parkerville projects with the main focus of our fundraising being to provide all children, young people and their carers with an annual summer holiday. Recent holiday destinations have included Peppermint Grove Beach, Ledge Point, Lancelin, Jurien Bay and Moore River. It is the Friends’ expectation that the freedom, relaxation and new experiences provided by these visits will be enjoyed by the children and will benefit their health, growth and well-being.

Fundraising events, including the Annual Dinner and Bridge Day, have been strongly supported by sponsors and friends. The financial success of these functions has enabled Friends to make significant contributions, including $20,000 for a new motor vehicle to support the Young Women’s Programme operating from the Variety Units in Armadale and $60,000 for the fitting out of three new units providing Supported Accommodation for Adolescents. |
The Friends of Parkerville Committee is a strong, enthusiastic group of volunteers, committed to enhancing the lives of children and youth in need of care and are keen to welcome new members.
