Support and Counselling Services (SACS) Mirrabooka

Our SACS programme is currently run out of our Mirrabooka Office only.  SACS provides families with a wide range of support which can include in-home support, education support, health support and court and justice support.  The programme also provides recreational support by providing links to community groups and other local services.  Depending on the needs of the family this may include sporting  activities, social activities and group; neighbourhood programmes and support groups.

Where SACS have the capacity to run programmes for families involved in the service we can offer: Boys and Girls Programmes; School Activities, Life/Social Skill Groups and Groups for Young Children.  We also provide transport to families so that they can access recreational and community programmes where required.

We need volunteer assistance with the following:

Mentoring, Tutoring, Homework Assistance

We require volunteers to assist our families in many ways with these skills.  Assistance can include homework assistance, numeracy/literacy skills and general life skills.  We would also like volunteers to act as mentors for the families in our programmes, especially our younger families.  Activities could include: role modelling; taking to social activites with other women or mums; or providing parenting and general living advice.

School Holiday Activites

We require volunteers to assist our staff with school holiday activities.  If you have a skill that we can utilise that would be fantastic.  Face Painting; Arts; Crafts or just being able to help us with an outing or other activities such as organised games, football, soccer, netball, fishing, sailing and cycling...the opportunities are endless!
