Youth Services - Belmont

Belmont Youth Programme: We require volunteers to work in a mentor capacity or undertake support shifts with staff.  If you are a student undertaking Youth Work qualifications or are someone wishing to move into the youth area, then this is the place for you to start.

Young Women's Programme: We require volunteers to act as mentors for the young women in our programmes, especially our young mums.  Activities could include: role modelling; taking to social activities with other young women or young mums; providing parenting/independent living advice; supporting young women in attending appointments.  We require this more so in the Armadale area.

Employment, Education and Training Programme (EET): We require volunteer teachers who are qualified and registered (if you are retired we would love to use some of your valuable experience). We would ask that you support our teacher in the classroom by providing one on one educational support.  Literacy and numeracy are the main focus within this role.  We would need a committment of at least one day per week for a minimum of a school term.

We also require any tradesmen/women who have some time to give and are willing to assist the young people to undertake special trade specific projects e.g. tiling, bricklaying or carpentry.

Seen and Heard: we need volunteers to assist our staff to run Dance Parties; School Holiday Activities and other Programmes by providing supervision to groups.  There are no one on one activities that are required in this programme.
