Department of Families, Communities Services, Housing, and Indigenous Affairs Grant
|
Parkerville Children and Youth Care has received a six month grant from the Department of Families, Communities Services, Housing, and Indigenous Affairs for an Advocacy Initiative project under the National Framework for Protection Children. The Project being run by the George Jones Child Advocacy Centre aims to build and promote the evidence base of the Advocate role and to share knowledge, experience and learning about the role with other not for profit agencies. Advocacy Standards and a Training package will be developed and training will be offered to those in advocate roles as well as government and statutory service providers to develop understanding of the Advocate role and enhance responses to children, young people and families. The Projects aims to meet the second objective of the FaCSHIA Child Aware Approaches initiative, ‘To improve or enhance the service response for children and young people experiencing, exposed to or at risk of exposure to domestic/ family violence, mental illness and sexual abuse, recognising that substance abuse issues may intersect with these risks.’ If you are interested in knowing more about the project, including the proposed training in Western Australia, please contact Project Manager Jon Rose jrose@parkerville.org.au |
