For more than a century, Parkerville Children and Youth Care has been supporting vulnerable children, young people and their families with specialist advocacy, therapeutic services, education and employment training, and out of home care.
We have been in awe of our ‘superkids’ and their resilience and willingness to keep trying to engage and connect, to conquer their fears and bounce back to claim their identity and purpose, and to create a better future for themselves and us all.
We believe that together we can build a community where all children and young people feel safe to dream, to thrive, and to reach their fullest potential.
Parkerville Children and Youth Care exists to provide advocacy, services and supports to children, young people and families to reduce the impacts of child abuse and in doing so help WA to become the safest place in the world to bring up children.
Every year, we support more than 10,000 people across Western Australia through our child advocacy services, integrated family services, early intervention and prevention, youth homelessness and supports, therapeutic foster and residential care program. Their future depends on what we do in the present to assist them to reach their potential.
Founded as the Parkerville Children’s Home in 1903, Parkerville Children and Youth Care has evolved into a dynamic, professional organisation that is leading the sector in innovative and responsive services. Our team of more than 175 skilled and experienced staff includes psychologists, social workers, teachers, occupational therapists, professional and respite carers, administrative and corporate personnel, working from our campus at Parkerville, in the Perth foothills, and from schools, advocacy and counselling centres across the metropolitan area, as well as in the Mid-West where we support children and young people unable to live at home in Geraldton and Carnarvon.
We were the first Child Safe accredited organisation in Western Australia and have continued to build our reputation for compassionate and progressive evidence-based services.
As a registered charity, we are committed to developing innovative and culturally safe services in partnership with the government and other not-for-profit organisations to meet the needs of families in local communities and improve outcomes for them. We do this by providing:
We enthusiastically embrace our multicultural community and pay our respect to the First Peoples of Western Australia, committing ourselves to action and reconciliation.
We are a force for change. Empowering people to transform their lives. Advocating for change in our sector and in our communities.
As a strong, values-based organisation, we are dedicated to an ongoing journey of self-awareness, learning and improvement in everything we do because the children and young people with whom we work deserve nothing less.
